This is the remake of the folklore Hansel and Gretel with the steampunk aesthetics.
The kids are in a total state of wonder, excitingly observing the village ruled by the witch. Little animal creatures are the servants and the habitants of this villages: busy constructing the roofs with confections, running on the pipes to have fun, or guard the village with their vigilance.

I made this image for the "We, humans" challenge hosted by ITS ART.

It portrays a little girl looking down at this labyrinth-like metropolis where people build relationships, have fun, get blind by the luxury side of the life, and get trapped in their own emotions and values.

At certain moments in life, we are just like her, facing so many choices and possibilities. Can she find her own way in those neon lights? Can we, humans find our own way in life?

Hi, this is my entry for the Uplift Challenge which is inspired by David Brin’s Uplift Universe.

Here is the story,

The Lightlogers are coming!

The ground shakes, the water trembles.

Uplifting the dolphins without having any approval, humans definitely angered many alien species; Lightlogers are for sure one of them. To stop the humans from the uplifting process, Lightlogers decided to put an end to it: an end for both the dolphins and the humans.

Not only the uplifted species, but also other creatures of the sea are about to face their day of doom. Will the humans be able to change the fate of the dolphins? Will they be able to change the fate of their own?

The ground shakes, the water trembles.

They are coming…


This is my first time dealing with such complex subject matter and the first time that I included so many visual elements in a digital painting, I won't be able to complete this without the help from other participants during the challenge. A big thanks to all the people who have gave me support and inputs.

Jack, thanks for your continuous support during those 2 months, that was really sweet.

When I went back to China few years ago, the park that I used to go with my parents when I was still a kid has already been removed.
